The Lion King Simba and Nala Employee-Exclusive Limited Edition Cel #53/188

Simba and Nala share a tender moment in this exceptional hand-painted limited edition cel with enhanced hand-inked lines, a cel that was never offered to the public. This Walt Disney Feature Animation cel painting and matching print background were created especially for Feature Animation employees only. At the conclusion of The Lion King's production (which was animated digitally, with no hand-painted production cels), WDFA cast and crew were allowed to select a limited edition cel from among eight that were created just for them. The edition size was determined by the number of employees who selected them. There were only 188 made of this great cel, of which this is numbered 53. The cel is placed on a reproduction of the matching production background; the overall size of the piece is approximately 17.5" x 12.75". The gold WDFA seal with Mickey Mouse is stamped on the lower left. A Walt Disney Company Certificate of Authenticity is included. The cel comes from the private collection of Mike Gabriel, director of The Rescuers Down Under, Pocahontas, and the award-winning short film Lorenzo. Cel condition is Fine with light handling.
