Catalogue description
Mickey and Minnie have always been sweet on each other, but this romantic short takes the cake! Puppy Love, directed by Wilfred Jackson and released to theaters on 9/2/1933, centered around a romantic date between the two lovebirds. Things start out great, but their relationship nearly ends for good when Pluto regifts Minnie's chocolates to Fifi and replaces what's inside with a bone. But not to worry - they could never stay angry at each other for long and they are as happy as can be in this drawing. You can spot them laughing together at roughly 4:57 as they finish singing "That's Called Puppy Love". They are as timeless as their love for each other and measure about 5" x 4" on the page, rendered in graphite. Some of the animators that helped bring them to life included Dick Huemer, Fred Moore, Les Clark, and Ben Sharpsteen. The drawings is marked 213 in the lower right and displayed in a 12" x 9.75" mat and 18" x 16" frame. All frames are sold as-is. Photos are not representative of actual frame condition. With only light edge and handling wear and faint age-related toning, this sweet couple is in Very Good condition.
