Pinocchio Production Cel

An adorable image of Pinocchio from the 1940 animated feature of the same name. Despite not being initially a commercial and financial success, the film remains one of the most critically acclaimed of all the Disney animated features. The New Yorker's review at the time argued that "it befits us to take Pinocchio to our hearts with gratitude and pleasure." Presented in this lot is one of the best Pinocchio images we have seen to date! This is from the sequence when Geppetto and Figaro wake up in the night to find that his wooden puppet has come to life. We see this image at or around the 23:06 mark in the film. The hand-inked, hand-painted 6" trimmed image is affixed to an 8.5" x 10" cel and placed over a background copy/print for presentation purposes. The cel has been professionally restored and is in Very Good condition.
