Catalogue description
Walt Disney once said, "When we created Donald Duck, we wanted him to be a little different from the other cartoon characters of the time. We wanted him to have a real personality, with all of the flaws and quirks that come along with being a real person." Presented in this lot is a fabulous hand-inked, hand-painted cel featuring the plucky duck in his post-war character design that first appeared in the 1946 short Donald's Double Trouble. Walt notably felt that Donald was one of the more challenging characters to animate due to his wealth of "human-like" characteristics. The ever-expressive duck is seen here hatless yet still in his classic sailor shirt, the character element that has undergone numerous subtle changes throughout the years. He stands full-figured at 4.5" x 4.25", centered on 12 field acetate. Displayed in a 15.75" x 13.75" frame under glass and matted to 9" x 7". All frames are sold as-is. Photos are not representative of actual frame condition. Overall this lovely cel appears in Very Good to Fine Condition.
